I have trying to get cheap yet thorough buildings insurance. Subsidence in the past seems to be causing a problem, but our current insurer is too expensive, we have to change. It is completely ridiculous, our house hasn’t moved in over 50years and they still wont insure us for a fair price. Has anyone had any luck in the past in finding a cheap coverage?

Have you tried going to a broker in person, I know it sounds strange as in, why would that make a difference. But trust me it does. We had the same problem when searching online and via phone, but then we went to a broker and they did all the searching for us, and we ended up with quit e a few quotes. I think as they are specialist they know the insurers that cover and those that don’t. I mean I am sure we still pay higher than the norm, but at least we have insurance. Good luck mate!!
