I want to buy a house abroad but before I do I want to gather all the information about things such as insurance etc. Is it stable enough in Spain at the moment in order for me to buy a house at a decent price and not be scammed over? I heard people had their investments taken away from them, I don’t want to be in the same situation, but as I won’t need a mortgage I hope this lowers the risk. Also what do I need to look for in Spanish home insurance? Will I have to get insurance in Spain or are there companies that deal with it here in England? I don’t speak very good Spanish and don’t want to have to pay for all the documents to be translated into English icon_rolleyes.gif

There are loads of companies in England that deal with holiday home insurance, maybe they are a little pricier but it saves a lot of hassle and that way if you have any questions at least you know you will be able to talk to someone.
Also very interesting:
  • What types of health insurance for foreigners are available in England?
  • How does health insurance in germany work?
  • Does anyone have supermarket home insurance? Marks and Spencer or Tesco?
  • What is usual for a pet insurance excess?
  • Is a life insurance gift a good idea?
  • Who needs supplemental life insurance?
  • Body insurance for models?
  • How does Confused van insurance online quoting work?
  • Do NFU pet insurance offer cover for multiple pets?
  • What’s wrong with the travel insurance Sainsbury’s offers?

Are they really that much more expensive Chitrani? Do you have experience in the Spanish home insurance market? If so do you think it would be worthwhile me just hiring a translator and getting a Spanish home insurance instead of an expensive UK one?
