Hi, I'm looking to get the best possible deal on home insurance & compare prices with other people who are in a similar situation. I'm insuring a semi-detached house in Manchester with no history of subsidence, flooding etc |

Hi there, unfortunately it's difficult to know exactly how our homes compare because the detail is so important for insurers... But I also have a semi in Manchester and pay £180 with Direct Line. Like I say though, you can't really compare exactly, because the value of the contents cover, the location of the property and how secure it is all affect the final cost! Your best bet is to use a comparison calculator. You have to give your details, but then it shows you options from different insurers. |

Best bet mate is to just contact as many insurers as possible, this is where people miss out. They just go with the first deal they think sound half decent, when there are always more opportunities. Just get loads of quotes and see which one is better, might be a long job but at least you will know you got the best deal. |
