I was told that Sterling home insurance is good but there's not much detail on their website. Does anyone have experience of them / their home insurance?

I think Sterling typically caters to the higher end of the market. I don't know whether this applies in your case, or whether you're looking for basic cover? They cover 'larger sums' and 'complex properties', or even the 'main residence and additional homes'! If you're looking for this kind of cover I'd recommend contacting them directly – they'll tailor a policy to suit your needs. If not, look at other 'normal' sites.

If this was what you were looking for, then I find that if you click on the names of the types of insurances they offer they have quite a lot of info. They even have the policy online and a quotation form that allows you to submit your details and then they get back to you. But it is true, as they are dealing with the high-end market they probably aren’t doing the whole online marketing nonsense as they don’t need to. :-S
