I think I have either lost or had my iPod stolen on the train to work. Am I right in assuming that I can claim a loss of this through my contents insurance? QBE is my insurer and I also have my car and home insurance with them and they have always been very good when it came to claiming but I am not sure whether this will be ok or not. Any experiences?

I doubt they will cover this. Usually contents insurance is only applicable under certain conditions/situations ie theft vandalism etc but if you have reported the iPod as stolen then you won’t have a crime number which will stop you from claiming. To be honest, when it comes to things such as iPods and cameras etc I would always say its best to just buy a new one, these types of smalls claims affect your premium a lot more than what the item is worth. Just get a new one
