Am I just a massive “size-ist” or am I not the only one to think that for insurance to cover gastric bypass surgeries would be ridiculous. I cant imagine how offering this would help people. Obese people need to be able to try to lose the weight themselves… giving the surgeries away for a small monthly premium defeats the object. Its like saying that it is completely normal to have this surgery, where as it shouldn’t be, it should be for those who have no other options.

Well I disagree. There are some people who have tried all other options and need this surgery, who are you to say that they should not be allowed it. Some people have other medical conditions that make them become obese, what happens then? You want us to start discriminating against all people over a certain weight. Does that also apply to normal surgeries, should people not be able to have a foot operation if they are obese neither? Ridiculous!!!!!

I don’t know there are two sides to this, it is true you cant start discriminating, but say for example if all liposuction surgeries became free, no one would care about their health anymore as they would think it is easily fixed with a quick tummy tuck. People need to look after themselves before being given this option.
