I have always had to pay more for my health insurance as I am a lot bigger than the “healthy” average. I have been on a diet and exercise program that my doctor gave me for a while now but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I get tired too quickly so can’t keep up with the exercise program. Then it’s a vicious circle as I get depressed and start eating again. I went and saw my doctor and he suggested the Gastric Bypass, but I was wondering, does insurance cover Gastric Bypass surgery? I doubt I would be able to afford it by myself but it would be great if there was a way to get it. I feel hopeful again!!!!!

I doubt you will be able to find an insurance that covers you, but if it is a serious problem, AND your doctor recommended GBS then I think you can get it through the NHS. You have to have a BMI well over 35!!!! Talk to your doctor or call the PCT and ask them for a list of what you need to qualify.
