I am coming to Salford to study and I need to know what I should be looking for in terms of student accommodation in Salford. I am from China and need to know how much I need to bring with me. Are please usually furnished? Will I have to bring kitchen stuff? Obviously it is very expensive to bring things from here, but I am thinking of posting some things if it is really so expensive. I think that the university has arranged for my accommodation but I didn’t really like the pictures, where can I look for my own apartment? Which areas should I avoid? |

You want your own apartment? That isn’t very student-like for UK, usually you have to share, but if you can afford your own place, why not. But it will be more expensive and you will probably need a huige deposit. Plus you will have to try and do all the searching from abroad which could prove difficult. But if you want a list of accommodation in Salford, I would just go to google.co.uk and have a look for Salford estate agents. Not sure about the areas sorry. |

The areas of Salford to be avoided are; Eccles, Irlam, Little Hulton. All very very bad areas. Stay away. |
