I came up with an idea that I am sure many others have too but I am not sure if it is possible. I fly quite a lot and the silly costs of card charges added on to companies such as ryanair are really starting to add up. Can I get a Nationwide visa electron card in order to avoid fees? I know that these cards are usually used for youth accounts, but I am guessing people can request them, is that correct?

Yes you can have a Nationwide visa electron card, not sure why you specifically mention them though, you know others offer them also?

Sorry to inform you but Ryanair no longer accepts visa electron as a charge free card :-S Apparently it wasn’t a free of charge forever thing, only a special offer. Now it is Mastercard prepaid cards that have this discount but they cost to use so may not figure out cheaper I’m afraid http://www.ryanair.com/en/news/mastercard-prepaid-now-free-payment-method
