I first opened a Bank of Scotland Ultimate Reward account 4 months ago as I thought that some of the features would be very useful. I was looking for travel insurance at the time and needed a free overdraft, both of which were included. The problem now is that I don’t use any of the other features, even when I try to save a bit of money each month I never seem to so I seem to be wasting the monthly cost each month as I don’t get anything from it. So now I wanted to try and “downgrade” my account, is this possible? What account could I transfer to? |

No, unfortunately not mate. It says in the T&C’s that you if you close your account in the first year you will have to continue paying the monthly charge for the remainder of the year. So you might as well keep it and just try and use the services. If you really are not happy perhaps try and speak to someone in branch, perhaps there is another account that yyou still have to pay for (so they don’t lose anything) but that you will profit more from. |
