I was just wondering how long it takes for a Bank of Scotland overdraft to be validated? I applied through the online banking facility where you can apply for an extended overdraft but I have yet to hear anything back and I have not be granted the extra money. Does anyone know how long this service takes? If I go into the branch now and ask for an overdraft instead will they decline as I have already made one application?

Its strange as it usually only takes a couple of days maximum to hear something back from them. I would say that you need to contact them, perhaps there was a problem with their online system and you therefore have not actually made a request. Do you have a good credit rating? Perhaps it is just that they are deciding whether to grant you the extra money. You say that you requested an extended overdraft so does that mean you already had one? If so perhaps the request you made is too high? Maybe you are not supposed to have more and they are just working over it. If in doubt just go in branch and try and explain the situation perhaps they will have a better answer for you.
