I recently bought something and didn’t realise that I would go under my available balance and go into overdraft. I was able to put the money in the next day but when I went in branch I realised as I had never set up an overdraft facility I was charged £35 through Halifax overdraft charges. I find this outrageous. Is there anything I can do to get this money back? I remember there was a huge thing a while back about people claiming charges back, but I am not sure whether these types of charges are acceptable also. |

Yes you definitely can get these charges back! Have you had a look on money saving expert? There is this letter on there which you can personalize and then send and I would say it works in most cases. So many people are conned in to paying such amounts as they don’t know any better, but definitely go for it. If they reply saying that you still have to pay for something I would advise you to insist that you pay it back, if they know you are serious they won’t want to go any further! |
