I went in to the YBS the other day to put in a cheque for my son. I don’t want him to know about this money as he often refuses but I know he needs it, but the thing is, is that I thought that it would be ok if I went in with his account number etc and that I wouldn’t need anything else apart from his name. But when I went in they told me I had to fill in a form to deposit the cheque and on this form it had the account number and the sort code. What is the Yorkshire building society sort code? I don’t want to have to ask him for it as I know he won’t tell me. |

Even if she had they wouldn’t know the actually sort code of her son. The sort code varies depending on where you opened the account. Well that’s how it works in banks and I am guessing that this is the same thing with Building Societies too. |

Do they do this with cash also or will it be easier if I just put it in in cash? |

Think it should be fine if you go to the desk and just explain to them, they will give you the details, especially if you are just putting money in and know his name, address and DOB then they will be able to check the person. I am actually quite surprised they didn’t let you put it in the first time oyu went in. I have done this loads of times. |
