Can I just check that the 'peace of mind guarantee' means that online banking with Abbey is guaranteed but there's no chance of compensation if fraud occurs?

Why would you need compensation? The only reason for them to pay you compensation would be if they had made an error and needed to pay you back and compensate you for the inconvenience. There's not much chance of this happening with fraud... Unless Abbey hack into your account and take the money as 'fraudsters' in which case I'm sure you could take them to court, ha ha! They just promise to replace the funds if someone else steals them. Which is nice – no need for them to do more!
