I recently had my bank account frozen due to some fraudulent activity on it, and it made me realise how dependent I am on my one account. So i was think that I should open another Yorkshire bank Ready Cash account and keep some of my wages in it each month so that if something were to go wrong I still have another account, or vice verse. But is this possible?

I don’t think so, most banks say no as they don’t think it is wise having accessing to two forms of credit.

Do you have an overdraft on your first account? If not then it should be ok.

But isn’t the Ready cash account just a plain simple cash account. I don’t think it has any overdraft facilties, I mean it’s a Maestro for goodness sake it cant be that great.

Why not just open another current account with another bank? If your credit score is ok then you won’t have any problem, then all you need to do is set up a direct debit from your YB account every month to your other one
