I have encountered a potential snag when getting a credit card: no credit history! Never mind poor credit history, how easy is it to get credit when you never had it before?

Everybody has to start somewhere! As long as you don't have a BAD credit history and you can prove that you have a stable income, I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to give you one! It's probably a good idea to get one from your bank first: you can get a credit account set up alongside your debit account, which makes payments easier. Also, your bank is likely to accept your application if you are already a customer with them. Hopefully they can see you're a reliable customer icon_biggrin.gif

Perhaps try Barclays' Initial card it is specifically aimed at people who want to get their first credit card and therefore i doubt it will be hard to get. You just need to earn more than 10k a year, be over 18 and have lived in the UK for 3 months amongst other things. Check here for more details..... http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal-home/cards/initial/index.html you can also apply online
