I have encountered a potential snag when getting a credit card: no credit history! Never mind poor credit history, how easy is it to get credit when you never had it before? |

Everybody has to start somewhere! As long as you don't have a BAD credit history and you can prove that you have a stable income, I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to give you one! It's probably a good idea to get one from your bank first: you can get a credit account set up alongside your debit account, which makes payments easier. Also, your bank is likely to accept your application if you are already a customer with them. Hopefully they can see you're a reliable customer |

Perhaps try Barclays' Initial card it is specifically aimed at people who want to get their first credit card and therefore i doubt it will be hard to get. You just need to earn more than 10k a year, be over 18 and have lived in the UK for 3 months amongst other things. Check here for more details..... http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal-home/cards/initial/index.html you can also apply online |
