I am looking in to leasing a car and have come across many different stories about the good and bad side of leasing. But what I want to know is simply, leasing vs. buying a car – what is better? What are the main advantages and disadvantages to both?

Owning your own car instead of paying for something that will never be yours should be a pretty big advantage for buying icon_wink.gif But to be fair this could also be a disadvantage as when you buy a car everything is on you if something goes wrong, whereas leasing is covered with a warranty. Also buying you would lose on depreciation, but if you plan to keep the car for a while it would work out better for you than leasing. It is easy to list the advantages and disadvantages of both but it depends on what you want from a car, whether you use it frequently and whether or not you have the money to afford the deposit to buy a car on a finance plan.

If you don’t need a car any more or your circumstances change suddenly you will be stuck with a lease contract and will be forced to pay quite a big penalty to get out of the contract L
