Is vehicle leasing, Ireland in particular, worthwhile in the long run?

If I want to actually own a car, would it be worthwhile vehicle leasing (Ireland) and then buying the car at the residual value at the end? Or is it better to get a financing plan and buy the car from the beginning? I was thinking that maybe leasing could be better as those first 2-3 years you sign up for, you wont have to pay if anything goes wrong with the car and get all the benefits of free loan cars if something does go wrong etc. Any thoughts?

I doubt it would be cheaper after you have taken everything in to consideration. I mean even something as simple as insurance changes when you lease a car instead of financing it outright. Insurance on a lease car is usually higher. Then don’t forget you have the end of contract fees, interest and much more, I would say financing is better if you are sure you want to own the car. If not, leasing can be worthwhile if you plan to change cars frequently. I suppose it depends on how sure you are.
