What is the difference between indirect and direct auto finance, and what are the main advantages / disadvantages of each? I need to decide between these types before finalising my car purchase |

As the name suggests, direct auto finance is a loan made to you which enables you to buy a car. Indirect auto finance is a loan made to you via your car dealer. Essentially, your car dealer acts as the middle man. One advantage of this may be that if your car dealership is particularly keen to secure indirect financing, because they make money from it, they might cut you a good deal. Perhaps flat fees or no penalty for early repayment. |
