My husband is in the forces and his friend's wife has just taken out a business loan to start up her own nail salon. She told my husband she got a good deal because her husband is a veteran. What's the deal with veterans & business loans? What offers are available?

I'm not really sure how your husband's friend's wife managed that one... To my knowledge the veteran loans are available to try and support ex service men in returning to work and business. The SBA offers support, for example. These kinds of 'special deals' are rarely available to everyone, just because they're connected with a veteran. Are you sure she didn't get the loan for the business by describing it as a joint venture?
