I would like to know if bank’s business loans are checked against personal credit or not. I don’t have any ccj’s nor have I ever been bankrupt but I have an overdraft which I have often been unable to pay back as agreed in monthly installments. Will this be held against me?

Sometimes it simply depends on how good the idea is. If the business idea and your business plan is foolproof then I doubt your poor credit history would stand in your way. I was in a similar situation and I went to Barclays, they also look at your history but only usually the past 12months so I was fine.
