How do I take out body insurance? I have recently taken up modelling, nothing major, just a few shoots for a catalogue. But after a recent shoot the scout suggested that I submit my portfolio for some more important casting (wish me luck). The problem is he also mentioned that perhaps I should consider taking out body insurance but I cant seem to find any information on it outside of the USA. Does anyone know any companies’ in the UK that offer such services? Also is it really worth me taking out seeing as I have only just started, I don’t want them to charge me a fortune when I wont even be earning that much. |

Not sure are you also doing something else or is this your main source of income? If it is your main income then maybe it is worth getting covered. If this is more like a hobby and you are doing something else too then I wouldn’t bother. |

It probably is worthwhile, but to be fair, you are going to have trouble finding a company that actually covers you. For example I know there are some specialist insurers in London that deal with stars etc, but that to me sounds like money. Perhaps ask around when at your next photo shoot and see whether the others do and if so where and how much they pay. |
