Warm Front Grant
You may be entitled to a Warm Front Grant if you have a low income and need help covering the costs of insulating your home. You can apply whether you are a homeowner or renting your home from a landlord. You may qualify for a Warm Front Grant if you are currently entitled to receive one or more state benefits including Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Disability Living Allowance, War Disablement Pension or Industrial Injuries Disablement Pension.
If your application is successful, you will be allocated an assessor who will visit you at home and determine the best plan of action to ensure your home is better insulated and heated more effectively. The Warm Front Grant will then cover the improvements up to a limit of £2,700 or even £4,000 if you need oil central heating improvements. You may be entitled to one or more improvements, including a glass-fronted fire, energy-efficient light bulbs, draughtproofing, central heating, loft insulation, boiler insulation and cavity-wall insulation.
If you think that you may be entitled to a Warm Front Grant, even if you are not receiving benefits but are struggling to keep your home warm on a low income, you should contact the Warm Front Scheme direct on 0800 316 2805 for more information on making your claim.
