New Deal for the Disabled
If you are disabled and seeking employment you may wish to consider participating in the New Deal for the Disabled scheme. You will work with a Job Broker to ascertain your best approach to finding suitable employment. Your Job Broker will be able to advise you on potential jobs and match your existing skills to market openings. You will also be given the chance to learn new skills should you require them, and you will be supported throughout the application process and your initial period of employment. Your Job Broker can assist you with finding an employer who wishes to profit from your skills, whilst ensuring that your disability will not cause you difficulties at work. You can discuss any problems or worries you may have about the employment market with your Job Broker. Although New Deal for the Disabled is operated through Jobcentre Plus, your first step is to find a Job Broker who caters to your needs and with whom you are comfortable. You can contact Jobcentre Plus on 0800 055 6688 if you need assistance or advice on the New Deal for the Disabled or on finding a Job Broker.
