Specialised Occupational Pension Schemes
There are several employers who offer their workers specialised pensions, which may be a mixture of defined contribution (see Occupational defined contribution schemes) and defined benefit schemes (see Occupational defined benefit schemes), or follow independent rules. The main specialised pensions in the UK are the pension schemes which are run by the government for its direct and indirect employees. There are separate pension schemes for the Armed Forces (see The Armed Forces), the National Health Service (see The NHS), teachers (see Teachers) and the civil service (see The Civil Service).
