Early Retirement Due to Occupation
Whilst the minimum age for drawing a pension is set at age fifty and is set to rise to age fifty-five from 2010 onwards, certain occupations may entitle you to draw your pension at a younger age. Generally these are occupations which require a level of sporting fitness or agility that cannot be maintained until the standard retirement age. Professionals who may qualify for early retirement, say at thirty-five or forty years old, include footballers, boxers, dancers, models, skiers, divers and rugby players.
