Possible Fees & Charges

Many banking facilities are provided free of charge when you open a current account. These normally include (but are not limited to) internet and telephone banking and those services that they offer (such as transfer between any two accounts in the UK). In addition cash withdrawals at most ATMs and use of your debit card will usually be free of charge. There are some ATMs which will charge you for making withdrawals, but they will always indicate that a fee will apply before you agree to the withdrawal. Nonetheless, there are certain account services that are usually subject to fee payment such as transfer of funds to a foreign account. In addition, there are certain current accounts (often premier accounts, business or corporate accounts) that incur regular charges in return for better service and additional benefits such as higher interest rates (see Fee-paying and Package Accounts). You may also be charged a fee for banking services such as international transfers and use of an overdraft facility. These charges are described in the articles you can find on the left-hand navigation pane.
