Specialised Sports Travel Insurance

Specialised Sports Travel Insurance provides extra protection when you take a sports holiday. The following specialised travel insurances are widely available:

Ski and Winter Sports Insurance

You will usually have to pay extra for specialised travel cover if you are planning to go on a skiing or snowboarding holiday, because standard policies do not usually cover you for accident, loss, damage or injury if you take part in winter sports. Additional cover provided by ski or winter sport insurance includes: any sports equipment; cutting short your holiday due to avalanche, lack of snow, dangerous winds or closure of the pistes; search and rescue protection, and reimbursement of ski lesson fees if you fall ill or are injured and can no longer take part.

Golf Holiday Insurance
This cover protects you from unexpected costs which arise from a golfing trip. Additional cover provided by this insurance frequently includes: your own golf equipment or equipment hired by you; non-refundable golf fees, such as a non-refundable deposit for a game which you cannot take part in due to accident or illness, and 'hole-in-one' cover, which entitles you to reclaim a proportion of money spent at the bar as a result of hitting the ball into the hole on your first stroke, which traditionally obliges you to buy the other players a round of drinks.
