The Policy Booklet
The Policy Booklet, often referred to as the 'Policy Wording', provides a detailed summary of your car insurance. It is often forty pages or more and is the definitive guide to your policy, detailing when you can make a claim, what items are covered by your insurance and the terms and conditions that apply.
Comparing Insurance Policies
As each policy document generally follows the same structure, it is quite easy to compare different providers' insurance policies. Most insurers will make their policy booklet(s) available to download online before you even ask them for an estimate. You should read a number of policy documents from a range of providers, so that you can decide which insurance policy would be best for you. Read each section of your policy document carefully; this will ensure that you know exactly what you are covered for, and under what conditions.
