Breakdown Cover

Every day, thousands of breakdown calls are received by British breakdown support providers. It can be a scary experience if you find yourself stuck at the side of the road with a car that refuses to start, or a tyre that needs replacing. Breakdown cover helps if your car breaks down or needs emergency repairs, perhaps because of punctured or blown-out tyres, a flat battery or engine trouble.

There are a number of levels of protection that breakdown cover providers offer, and you can insure your vehicle or yourself. If you insure yourself, you are covered regardless of the vehicle you are in, and irrespective of whether you are a driver or passenger.

  • Home and Roadside Assistance: Repairs at home and at the roadside, bringing the benefits of basic cover to your doorstep
  • Vehicle Recovery: Transportation of your vehicle to a garage of your choice, to your home, or to any other destination of your choice
  • Onward Journey: Reimbursement of the cost of a courtesy car, overnight accommodation or public transportation costs

In addition, many providers offer European Cover. European cover provides you the benefits you receive in the UK while driving in Europe. This means that you, your vehicle and passengers could, for instance, be flown back to the UK if a serious problem with your vehicle occurs whilst you are abroad.
