Type of Cover

The type of car insurance you choose will affect the price of the premium. If cost is your top priority, consider reducing the level of cover you have. Remember however, that you will often get what you pay for: if you go for third party insurance because it is the cheapest choice, you have to bear in mind that you have only basic cover.

Third party insurance alone is the cheapest policy available, offering only the most basic cover. If you have an accident your insurance provider will not need to pay out for any damage to you or your vehicle.

Third party fire and theft insurance will typically cost slightly more than third party insurance alone. If your car is damaged or destroyed in a fire, or is stolen, you are entitled to compensation from your insurance provider.

Fully comprehensive cover is the most expensive car insurance policy. However, you are insured for a much wider range of eventualities than you are with third party, or third party fire and theft insurance.
